AND THE WINNER OF THE SIDORIO T-SHIRT IS…
We’ll get to the lucky winner in a minute but before we do, we want to say a massive thank-you to all you Nocturnals who participated in the contest to win an exclusive Sidorio t-shirt. We had over 80 entries making this, far and away, the most successful competition we’ve run to date. Nice going, guys! You kept the Vampirates crew busy listening to all the music you suggested, which ranged from ‘Monster’ by Skillet to ‘Bat out of Hell’ by Meatloaf, with a fair bit of Evanescence along the way! Eventually, it was a three-way fight with some very different music fighting it out for the top spot. We loved Jay Drem’s unusual suggestion of ‘When You’re Evil’ by Voltaire with, in Jay’s words, “its chilling violin solo”. We were also taken with ‘Sunglasses at Night’ by Corey Hart, proposed by Callee K. An old song but something of a classic with a cool and somewhat menacing vibe.
It was Justin himself who chose the ultimate winner and that is Alice Helen Money who selected ‘Run This Town’ (clean version) by Jay Z and Rhianna. Alice thought that Sidorio would be able to relate to lyrics such as, “Feel it comin’ in the air, Hear the screams from everywhere, I’m addicted to the thrill.” We all thought it was a really clever choice. Justin said, “I think the general sense of swagger and menace in this track completely suits Sidorio and his crew. The fact that it’s a duet with Rhianna makes me think of Lola being right there at Sid’s side. And, better still, there’s a point in the track where Jay Z sings, ‘Call me Caesar!’ It wasn’t a song I knew previously but I’ll definitely be thinking of it when I next write a scene featuring Sidorio!”
So big congrats to Alice – we’ll be in touch to sort out sizing and delivery of your exclusive tee!
Thanks again to all those of you who took part. We hope you’ll try your luck again when we launch our next competition – to win an exclusive Cheng Li tee – this coming Friday – Feb 26th.
