Justin raced back from Manchester to attend the launch of the Children’s Republic of Shoreditch at the Ministry of Stories in London’s East End last Tuesday. Launched in 2010, the Ministry of Stories empowers young Londoners through free writing workshops and mentoring programmes. Its latest exciting project is the Children’s Republic of Shoreditch, which includes a real Embassy building, entirely designed by young people. This will be open for the next two months, acting as a space in which children can further explore their creativity through workshops. Justin is delighted to be one of the Clerks of the Embassy and, in this capacity, will be involved in writing workshops there on August 3rd and 4th. At the launch event, he ran into writing mate Meg Rosoff, fresh from the movie set of HOW I LIVE NOW, and fellow clerks of the Embassy, writers Nick Hornby – one of the founders of MoS – and Sufiya Ahmed.
